Dr. Davina Luna
LICENSED CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Davina Luna, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist in the State of Kansas and an independent practitioner at The Therapy Center. She has experience providing assessment and treatment to children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Luna has experience diagnosing and treating individuals dealing with a variety of concerns, including neurodegenerative diseases and dementias, traumatic brain injuries, movement disorders, mood disorders, attention-deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), psychosis, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
Dr. Luna received her Doctorate from Pacific University in Portland, OR. She received specialized training in neuropsychological assessment through multiple practicum placements with board certified neuropsychologists. Prior to moving to Wichita and joining The Therapy Center, Dr. Luna completed a postdoctoral residency at Wasatch Behavioral Health in Provo, UT where she was primarily focused on completing psychological and neuropsychological assessments for children and adults.
One of Dr. Luna’s passions is working with people who are struggling to find the motivation to meet their goals. The problem with motivation is that it is fleeting and not stable. Sometimes the motivation is there, other times it’s not and we give up on our goals. Dr. Luna loves working with clients on maintaining consistency and finding sustainable solutions to their problems. She draws from multiple therapeutic modalities, but most often uses techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Dr. Luna lives in the Wichita area with her husband and their tuxedo cat, Dash. She grew up on the West Coast of Canada and has been migrating closer to the Midwest ever since meeting her husband who was born and raised in Kansas. In her spare time, you’ll find Dr. Luna cooking for her loved ones, enjoying nature, or traveling home to spend time with her family.
