CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER & LICENSED ADDICTION COUNSELOR
Jason is a State of Kansas Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor, and an independent practitioner at The Therapy Center.
Jason has over 15 years' experience providing assessment and psychotherapy. He works with children, adolescents, adults and older adults. Jason has a collaborative approach that builds on individual and family strengths. He utilizes evidence based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Jason has experience treating individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, disruptive behaviors, self-injuring behaviors, suicidal thoughts, addiction, trauma and grief/loss concerns.
Jason earned his Master of Social Work degree in Family-Centered Practice from Newman University. He completed his clinical practicums and post-graduate supervised clinical experience at Family Consultation Service and COMCARE, working with children, adults and families. Before joining The Therapy Center, Jason served as Director of Outpatient and Crisis Services for COMCARE of Sedgwick County. In that capacity he led the delivery and development of outpatient mental health, outpatient addiction treatment, 24-hour emergency services and jail alternative programming. Jason is a Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor and received the 2015 Service Provider of the Year award from the National Alliance on Mental Illness Wichita.
Jason and his wife Karen are raising four beautiful children (and one very energetic dog).
